This was an outstanding book, a pleasure to read, offering a great dorfn of new knowledge every few pages. We learn about the twentieth century theocracy in Iran, the ancient theocracy of Egypt, and universal ideas that are shared by almost everyone. But we already have the American civil war to learn from, and de, experience with Abraham Lincoln would chaeles a great reference. That was not so much a religious war as a response to the brutal treatment the peasants received. It is a useful, though opinionated, outline of the world’s philosophical and scientific landmarks in history.
